Ideally located, in the east of the island and in the Village of Katastari is Archontiko Village. Set in the mountains and overlooked by the imposing rock of Melisa and where a view from your balcony, will give you the clear blue waters of the Ionian Sea and the bay of Alykes, which is renowned for it's shallow beach and warm waters. Katastari is the biggest village in Zakynthos and here you will find supermarkets, coffee shops, bars and traditional Greek tavernas. Just 800m away is Alykes, the main tourist resort of the area and together with the neighbouring resort of Alykanas you will find many more bars, cafeterias, tavernas and tourist shops to satisfy your every need. Archontiko is situated 17kms away from Zakynthos town where is the main harbour and the ferry boats from mainland Greece (Kilini) comes. Just 19km from the airport and 10km from the harbour of St Nicolas, Volimes, where you can catch a ferry to the neighbouring island of Kafelonia. It is ideally located to visit the best sightseeing of the island. From Alykes, you can take some of the many boat trips to the famous Smugglers Wreck or the famous Blue Caves. Just 5 minutes drive north will bring you to Xigia beach, where you can relax in the sulphur enriched waters and the natural health spa, whilst getting that summer glow feeling, which is always a must on holiday. A short stroll will bring you to many other close beaches Xhoriati, Amoudi, Amboula and Gerakaria. The choices are endless. |
